Acronyms, Spam Email Solutions That Work!

The SPAM Problem

The dictionary defines SPAM as unsolicited or undesired bulk electronic messages. Anyone with email would have seen the amount of SPAM increase year on year.

SPAM costs UK business an estimated £470 per employee per year according to a email security firm MessageLabs. A survey of 200 UK customers shows that 28% of all email is currently described as 'useless' by employees (because it either contains a virus, pornographic material or generalised SPAM). A recent Gatner survey also suggests that 34% of email received within the workplace is unwanted.

SPAM doesn't just case a loss in productivity, it also steals from bandwidth, network storage and end-user support. The cost of SPAM doesn't stop there, considering the potential damage to a company's brand or possible litigation arising from the exchange or receipt of questionable emails.

Our SPAM Solution

Experts agree and say nothing will eradicate the SPAM problem. But there are a few techniques that can decrease the amount of SPAM. Safe practice and general awareness of questionable websites and materials plus care and attention to sharing details and responding to communications can all help in reducing the SPAM you receive. But most importantly introducing a tried and tested SPAM solution can have great results on reducing SPAM.

Acronyms SPAM solutions combines multiple software applications to combat SPAM and virus emails on more than just one level. Acronyms SPAM solution accepts all incoming mail for a company's domain(s), it then checks the mail for viruses. Once the virus emails have been blocked it then checks the mail against multiple blacklists to see if the source can be trusted. The mail is then checked heuristically to see if it falls within the criteria of SPAM, based upon a high or low potential risk score.

Once all of these checks have been made, the system bounces all SPAM and virus mail, forwards on the cleansed mail and any mail that has a low risk of SPAM is either forwarded onto the customers SPAM mailbox or sent to a webmail account for the customer to access and check at a later date. This allows the customer to check if certain mails that have been classified as SPAM have been identified correctly or are from a valid source.

If an email address is blacklisted this can easily and quickly be added to the whitelist to stop emails from this source being blocked in the future. So whilst the system is automatically intuitive it can be manually adjusted where necessary to ensure a thorough and effective best fit for the customer.
